sunrise on mystery lake
As a brook trout fishermen, you keep your special lakes a "mystery". This little gem had a heavy mist as the sun began to spread her warming rays across the hard water. It was a very magical moment for me, which I will treasure for a lifetime.

Winter's Textures
I Love observing the many patterns and textures of frost and ice, add an early morning sunrise and it gives all a golden glow.
Golden Rays on The Big East
There is just something mystique about an early sunrise casting a beautiful golden hue on fresh fallen snow. The river will start to freeze soon and I hope I can capture a few frames with it half frozen.

Colour My Winter World
Hey Exec...your wish is my command.... this is the "before dark" image. After several minutes of playing around with aperture and shutter settings I think I found the right equation. There was still a bit of daylight left, but enough darkness for the lights to glow....Once more homes in the area decorate I'll have to get out and shoot more scenes...a tripod is a must with these slow shutter speeds.

Cedar Rail Fence
Well I was fortunate to be out when the sun decided to make a short appearance this morning. I just love this old rail fence, even more with a bit of snow and Christmas lights. Will try and shoot tonight at dusk, when lights will be illuminated. Hope to post them as soon as possible...if they turn out that is.....Enjoy!

First Heavy Snow Fall
I just Love these early wet snow falls...they hug everything they touch, but leaving a detail that still enables us to comprehend the shapes partially hidden. It adds beauty to all the lifeless trees, and takes on colour from the sun...if you are lucky to see it during sunrises or sunsets. This is only the beginning of my winter photography series...enjoy!

Here's Looking at You
This was an experiment I tried, with using my small acrylic painting of a black wolf and making my mat out of one of my photographs. I sold it at the it's first showing....but what do you think?????

Mystery Wood
During the last days of our Indian Summer last week, I captured this early morning shot. I Love the mystery of the light mist and sunlight, streaming through this small section of old forest. Soon these few acres, will be developed into some kind of high priced subdivision or commercial area . I was fortunate to witness a doe and her twin fawns cross the road just ahead of me, a few days later. I was sadden to know that soon they would lose their safe sanctuary, once the land would be developed.

Misty Fall Dawn
There's no better time to shoot than a colourful misty fall morning....the mystery of half hidden treasures appear as the fog lifts with the oncoming heat of the sun. The soften details are so appealing and ads warmth to the image....mist has to be one of my favorite Nature's Moods....either on land or water.

Easter Morning Surprise
This Doe and her Fawn were frequent visitors a few years ago in March, it was the year of a early Easter and she was looking for the birdseed we were leaving for them out on the picnic table. So I careful reached out and placed the bucket of seed for them, and calmly sat down on the floor with the patio doors wide open.I proceeded to take shot after shot of them feeding, and just found it so adorable to see the seeds sticking to their noses. I just Love the Doe's large bright eyes, and you could see her unborn fawn moving along the walls of her sides...I'm sure she dropped her fawn around the middle of May.
Deux Yeux ( loon) Spirit Wind ( horse)
My Loon composition was painted from an image I took from a shoot on our Lake, and was done in Acrylics. It was soon sold to a client from Renfrew, Ontario. He also enjoys the Loons from his Kayak...and said my painting represented the bird magnificently ...as an artist I guess we can't ask for more than that....
The horse was my first try with a mixed media. After doing a few workshops with watercolours with my excellent teacher Carole Rudderham, I was confident enough to attempt a watercolour background, with the main subject in acrylics. I'm very pleased with the results and my daughter in Alberta is now the proud owner...

Algonquin Encounter
My first attempt at doing my own watercolour was a bit unnerving but I was very pleased with the outcome. As a title I also considered, Having Lunch on the Tim. We canoe the Tim River every year in May and the chances of seeing a bull or cow Moose are quit frequent...I added the element of Mist to give the painting a special mood. This little Moose is very popular and we proudly display the original in our home.....

October's Gift on Vernon
This Fall has been exceptional for calm mornings and vibrant fall leaves...I was most fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time for this shot...the peacefullness of the lake, the smell of Fall in the air and glorious color reflecting on the water...what a Gift!!!!! Of course the chairs make it the Perfect Muskoka shot and everyone's dream...for The View From My Dock!
