A not so perfect Swallowtail

 

This gorgeous butterfly had a chunk broken out of it's one wing....maybe from a confrontation with another Butterfly? Sorry to see very little Monarchs this year...hopefully in July....

I use a Nikon Coolpix S210. That is a little pocket camera, almost point and shoot. I would love to have one with a manual focus, but in the meantime, I delete a lot of shots, and I usually crop a lot as well.

Great work, Susan.
Love those loons. I get to see these magnificent birds for about a week in mid May when they set on a glacial lake south of town here. Then they are gone. Have never seen them in the fall and know not where they pass through?
