Please stand to correct me, but I beleive this is a Forest Banded Snail...he was just cruising along our trailer park road on a damp chilly day.....he looked at me several times, probably wondering what that big black thing with his reflection showing.....Was?

How cute! We have a ton in our former frog pond, then a mud puddle, now a dried out part of the forest.
So sorry to hear of your drought!!!!! not good for the trees, makes for poor colors and a short life before they fall....
