A Moose Hunt in Algonquin....with Cameras of course!

So sorry for not keeping up my blog for so long, we experienced an illness that was quit severe this past winter and I was not in a proper frame of mind with concerns for my husband's welfare.....he is now doing much better Thank You, Dear Lord!

Here are a few shots from our annual photography event here in Algonquin with other members of my camera club, with a total of 22 Moose sightings, 5 Whitetail Deer sightings, 2 Beavers and a lovely range of Birds including 2 Raptors it was a great success. But the bonus this year was a close-up encounter with an Eastern Wolf right along the roadway. Sad to say my images of the animal were not very good, I had borrowed an older Nikon telephoto lens that was not compatible to my newer camera, so could not focus or zoom properly. The Wolf allowed us only a few minutes before he retreated back deep into the forest! But his image will be forever ingrained in my mind!!!!!

The silky water shots were taken at Tea Lake Dam, as this young man was working his fly rod in pursuit of some tasty Brook Trout.

Kauniita ovat kuvasi.
Hirvi on mainiosti kuvissasi - jopa varoittaa hirvi-vaarasta tietä ylittäessä.
Toivotan kaikkea hyvää ja erikoisesti terveyttä.

Nice to see you back, Susan - and great news about your husband. That is some nasty illness you both were dealing with and it sure sounds like many prayers were answered !

Love your shots, from the trout lily to the early morning tranquility to the rushing waters. Great shot of the moose. As for the wolf, some shots are better stored in our own virtual memory ;-) - instant recall.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend.

Those photos? GORGEOUS! Lucky you getting out and seeing so much wildlife. Especially the wolf - such a rare treat.

Yes it was a close call, he had meningitis and septecimia, all from a sinus infection. The doctor said if I had not found him when I did he would have died in an hour!!!!!His progress was slow and he still gets extremely tired. His hearing is still a bit impaired and he lost over 20lbs. from the ordeal!!!!!Thanks Everyone for your concerns!!!!!!
