Christmas Greetings to All
Well we finally have enough snow for some Great after dark shots, this is the home of our neighbors, we unfortunately don't have trees, just little 3 foot pines...but they will look great in about another 3 or 4 years.

The Magic of Fall
I was just amazed by these dead fall leaves, how velvety they looked and the warmth of the sun glowing through them...so sad that all we see now is the color of gray in the distant hills...the tamaracks are glowing a pretty gold, but they also will loose their needles. I can't wait for the first snows or heavy frosts...or even an ice storm. That would be Great for a shoot!!!!!

last color of the season
Our trees are almost bare with all these high winds and rain, but was fortunate to take these shots of this glorious red maple before the nasty weather hit .....the colors were hard to enjoy with all this rain and cold, but I was blessed to be out on the clear days with my camera....now I just have to wait for the snow!!!!!

Last Day of Summer
This beautiful early misty morning was the last day of our 2009 summer, but Oh! how I Love the fall....the colors, the frosty misty mornings and the warm quiet sunny days in the bush.....awaken a hunger that can only be appeased by my camdera

Now come back and eat your dinner....
This was an opportunity I have waited for a lifetime to shoot a family of Loons...this day old chick was not co-operating with it's parents...it was so much fun watching it as both parents had minnows in their beaks and he/she was not interested....my shots were not very crisp due to low lighting and of course keeping my distance as to not upset the adult birds...Thank Goodness for long zooms. We returned the next morning hoping to shoot in better light...but they were no where to be found. I was so Thankfull for this opportunity......
Take a deep breath and hold!
This amazing snapping turtle was in quit a deep pool when she/he raised itself to take a few gulps of air at Arrowhead Lake this past July. It must of used it's tail to balance itself, as to not fall over....people had been feeding it crackers so I think it was still looking for hand outs....
Enjoy!!!!!

The light in my eye!!!
This amazing Loon, he or she.... sat quietly and calmly as the sun rose over the edge of this Island till the early morning sun bathed it with it's warmth. Most Loons will stretch their necks out to give themselves a lower profile, as if to hide but this bird kept it's head high. Double click on the photo and you will see the sun reflecting in it's very red eye....they say the color helps them see better when they dive to the depths in search of food....

Starflowers
Many flowers are starlike in form, but these little springtime beauties have a special right to their name. The astral effect of their blossoms is repeated in an underlying collar of white pointed leaves. They are shade-loving little plants that love rich woodsy soil and bogs. They are one of my favorites.

Trilliums on Fire!
I just can't get over how the White Trillium's are so abundant this year...this hill was just covered, with the odd Stinky Benjamins ( Red Trillium )scattered amongst them....The Red Trillium's are very interesting, they are pollinated by the carrion fly, therefore the reason for their horrible stink, and their color represents the same color of flesh!!!

Yellow Belly Sapsucker
For you Birders out there, I had never seen this bird before and was so pleased after I took this shot and did my research to find it is from the woodpecker family. I love discovering the bird varieties here in Muskoka and beyond.

One Happy Face
This is my friend Catharine from Fort Erie who's experience with a Moose in her past, was like seeing a fly on the windshield...so with her being so close to such a good size Bull was a thrill of a lifetime for her....I'm sure we will do this more often than once!!!!it was a blast Catharine!!!!
Mew Lake at Dawn
It sure pays to get out of bed early to capture these magical shots.....that was a beaver coming across the lake as we stopped to drink in the beauty of a new day in Agonquin.....
Young Bull Moose
This was last year's calf and he was not very shy, he spooked a bit when a transport truck would zoom by, but then he would soon be back out feasting on the tender cattail shoots and salty water along the hwy. We saw a total of 9 cows and 8 bulls...it was so exciting for my friend who has never been so close to this majestic animal...now if we could see them as often when they have their full racks on...then I would be just as excitied

Please take my Picture-BlueBird
I've never seen this species of bird before...he is so adorable. It was quite chilly at 7:30 am, so this little fellow was puffed up and so cute!!! The sparrows are quite aggressive and he was guarding this birdhouse for his mate....

At days end
There's just something special with sunsets reflecting on a frozen lake, and with all the snow gone from a recent thaw...there's even more beauty to it. This is one of natures gifts we tend to miss when we are complaining of the cold and snow.....I do Love winter!!!!!

ice clouds....along Lake Erie
I was so amazed with these clouds, I wished I had a fisheye lens to really take advantage of how they fanned out across the horizon....Enjoy
the mouth of the Mighty Niagara
It's about time to add something New to my Blog!!!! I was visiting in the Niagara Area and had gorgeous weather to do some shooting around Fort Erie. This was a shot taken where Lake Erie flows into the Niagara River. I just was thrilled to see all the ducks on the ice flows and if you pay attention, up along the top of the photo you can see a dotted line...it is actually hundreds of birds in flight. Click on the photo to enlarge and you should seem them clearly...it really was impressive
